Prayer Furnaces can be planted anywhere, in a dorm, fraternity, sorority, apartment, workplace, etc. The wonderful thing about prayer is that it’s not limited to just the professional few or the super spiritual, it is available to anyone who loves Jesus and longs to see His kingdom come and will be done right where they live and work everyday.  If you are not sure what a prayer furnace is and would like to learn more about leading a prayer group or simply joining one that already meets please contact Joey Nickerson at: jmn0001@auburn.edu

Below are a few keys to help you successfully take the plunge and start a Prayer Furnace of your own:

  • Schedule a day and time to hold your prayer meetings
  • Reserve a room or space in which to hold your prayer meetings
  • Gather with friends and invite others to join you in prayer
  • Designate a prayer leader
  • Recruit a worship leader
  • Pick specific prayer topics
  • Consider holding an informational meeting
  • Develop a leadership team
  • Consider registering your group as a campus ministry
